At-home pizza is booming. But making a truly great pie still comes with a choice: settle for whatever your 550°F indoor oven can manage, or buy a whole separate outdoor pizza oven, find somewhere to put it, and check the forecast.
Frigidaire had a better idea.
Its new industry-first range reaches 750°F and can bake restaurant-quality pizza in just two minutes. The challenge was getting Mass Premium home cooks to believe an everyday indoor range could actually pull that off.
Americans eat 3 billion pizzas a year. So it’s safe to say we know what good tastes like.
Which meant this wasn’t a feature people needed explained. It was a claim they needed proven. Because tasting is believing.
So instead of asking people to imagine what 750°F could do, we decided to hand them the evidence. Hot, cheesy evidence.
We put the oven on wheels and the pizza in hands—and, uh, mouths.
EP+Co’s in-house production arm, CR8, custom-engineered The Dough Mobile: a fully functioning mobile pizzeria built from a tricked-out golf cart and designed to sling fresh, 750°F stone-baked slices wherever hungry people happened to be.
We took the Dough Mobile across the country to massive events like MLB & NFL games and the Texas State Fair, to let the product prove itself the best way a pizza possibly can: one fresh slice at a time.
And no one knows how to judge a fresh slice like the King of Pizza himself, Dave Portnoy, who gave the pizza a high 7 score during our stop at College GameDay in Ohio.
Then we kept extending the stunt into social with content that kept the same energy—warm, conversational and a little unexpected—turning a product demo into something people actually wanted to watch, share and talk about.
And talk about it they did.
The Dough Mobile earned organic buzz, Ad Age coverage and an Audience Honor at the Shorty Awards, while driving meaningful lifts in both consideration and purchase intent.
Turns out the shortest distance between skepticism and belief is about two minutes at 750°F.
