Seafood has a generational PR problem, leaving dinnertime hostage to childhood aversions and notoriously picky eaters. To prove that even the most stubborn palates can be swayed by SeaPak, we teamed up with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop to introduce the Otterfords, a family of shrimp-obsessed puppet characters who capture the messy reality of family mealtime. Blending Henson nostalgia with modern dinner-table dynamics, we turned a nightly battle of wills into an event everyone actually wants to show up for.
Seafood demand is steadily declining across generations, thanks to lingering childhood aversions that follow eaters straight into adulthood. For busy families, dinner often devolves into a battleground of picky palates, where getting anyone to try fish or shellfish feels like an impossible task. SeaPak needed to break through this culinary standoff and prove that a great meal can convince even the most reluctant eaters to venture outside their comfort zones.
The real friction at dinnertime is not about the ingredients on the plate; it's about the emotional negotiation at the table. When kids dig their heels in, parents get frustrated, and routine meals quickly turn into stressful standoffs. To dismantle that anxiety, we needed to reframe the meal itself, shifting the conversation from coaxing kids to eat into a fun, shared ritual where even the pickiest eaters feel like digging in.

LoreWe shook up standard seafood marketing by inviting sea otters, the animal kingdom’s most notorious shrimp lovers, directly to the dinner table. In an eight-week collaboration with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, we designed and built the Otterfords, a custom family of puppets engineered with expressive eyes, movable eyebrows, and tiny munching teeth. Brought to life by veteran Sesame Street puppeteers, the Otterfords star alongside real actors in a national campaign that mirrors the relatable chaos of everyday family dinners. By grounding the work in warmth, character-driven storytelling, and a healthy dose of nostalgia, we proved that even the pickiest eaters pick SeaPak.
